Beatriz Milhazes is heavily influenced by both the botanical gardens outside her studio and by her sister’s dance company, the flirtatious colors and festive patterns are steeped in carnivalesque rhythms and landscape of her native Brazil. Milhazes has exhibited extensively, showing at the 2006 Shanghai Biennial and the 2004 Venice Biennale. (click here for a PDF of the artist's bio)
