JAY SHINN AT MIXED GREENS, ART OMI Mixed Greens presents Post-Op, a group exhibition exploring the influence on Op Art within contemporary visual art practice. Jay Shinn is one of eight artists who explore visual illusion through color, line, lighting and animation. Post-Op runs through August 17th. Shinn has also been accepted into Art Omi International Artist Residency this summer in Hudson, NY, where he will be preparing his upcoming solo exhibition at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs this fall. |
WILLIAM LAMSON AT STORM KING William Lamson's latest work can be seen at Storm King's Light & Landscape exhibition, on display through November. Light and Landscape features work by fourteen artists who use natural light as an essential artistic material. WAYNE WHITE AT TAUBMAN MUSEUM Wayne White's largest art installation to date can be seen at the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia. 'BIG LICK BOOM' depicts the history of Roanoke while engaging visitors through sights, sounds, and smells. The exhibition runs through September 15, 2012. For more information visit our blog here. In addition, Beauty Is Embarrasing, has been accepted into the Los Angeles Film Festival and will be screening at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on June 21 at 7:30pm. BRET SLATER Bret Slater's joins Jeff Zilm in a two-person exhibition at et al projects in Brooklyn. Save the date: Slater has been chosen to speak with Michael Corris at the Nasher Sculpture Center on Slater has an upcoming solo exhibtion at Elaine Levy Project, which will be displaying his work during Brussel Art Days, opening September 7, 2012. KEVIN COOLEY ON ...might be good Our friends over at Fluent Collab's ...might be good wrote a great review of Kevin Cooley's video installation, Skyward. Cooley's Skyward has been extended and will be on display through the summer.
